Where is our niche?

This is one post among many others giving good advices how to proceed to get your blog established and sought-after:

»Leave highly valuable comments on other blogs in your niche. Every
niche within the blogosphere is made up of a few tightly knit
communities. Like all communities, so much of what is actually going on
(passing links, giving tips, etc.) is all done behind the scenes
through email and IM. As a result, getting integrated into some of the
communities in your niche is essential to growing your blog.«

Biestmilch faces a major problem in this respect. There is no biestmilch community yet. We have to build this commumity ourselves, and, this takes time. And it is as it is, where ever you go to become part of a community, as an outsider, a stranger, carreer changer, or a foreigner, not socialized within the respective network you are an alien, poeple watch out for you, they are suspicious, ignore or overlook you…they don’t do it on purpose. It is just the way it goes.

Biestmilch and we, the biestmilch team need to be patient, we know that. We don’t know whether we will be accepted out there one day or not. Our Blog is only online for half a year, by far not enough time to expect attention from somebody, from somewhere. Our site is knew, our community building efforts still in its infancy. But nevertheless we don’t stop to look for those people who have experience and advice for a small business like our’s. Even though the average advices given in the blogosphere do not apply to us and biestmilch. Or am I wrong? Tell me out there!

By browsing through the blogosphere the feeling of being an outsiders is a steady compagnion, that’s sometimes a good, sometimes a bad feeling. Many times a lonely feeling. Could it be that I am in a somehow too depressive mood today ;-)… for blogging!?
