Carbon dioxide sensor in the brain

You may have realized that biestmilch is based on a thought concept of complexity, regulation and modulation. I am permanently searching for allies with this denkstil. Because as you all may understand having allies or combatants respectively makes life easier all along. Now I found a new chap ;-) supporting our notion. It is the sensor for carbon dioxide in our brain. This sensor seems to be part of a circuit that regulates breathing and the emotions going along with it like fear and panic. We know that fear of suffocating is one of the strongest human behavioral motives. This sensor seems to trigger fear and panic, and thus determines the (safety) margin of how much lack of oxygen a person is able tolerate. The data we have currently available are referring back to mice experiments. So, there is still to prove whether it applies to humans too. If you ask me, it will, the structures in the brain may vary, but the principle as such – I am sure – remains the same.

If this is the case, can we train this circuit? (more…)

Biestmilch Facebook Fan Page online now!

Since July 2008 I am on Facebook now. It is amazing how a network can grow and increase its connectivity, if you manage to stimulate it on a regular basis. In the beginning I was very reluctant to venture out on this platform which we used to call waste book. Today I have to admit it was the right step to do, and so after one and a half years of experience, we dare to launch a fan page.

During the last weeks my team and I had quite some discussion whether we should create a facebook fan page or a group. I was hesitant because of the inflationary aspect of fan pages. I receive so many invitation every day and I ignore a lot of them, and sorry, many of them are just crap!
Finally, we decided, yes, it is worthwhile to give this substance I am so thrilled and caught by for the last 10 years a place in its own right. Would love to welcome you on this page to introduce biestmilch or colostrum respectively to you. We hope that we can make the difference due to the quality of our work. If this is not the case, we shall not hesitate and switch it of! Nobody needs more of the same.

I just sent out a bunch of invitation… from now on it will not only be me alone anymore, what a relief :-)

The Biestmilch Island

We are currently in the midst of a flu epidemic. Whilst nobody cares much about the diagnosis swine flu anymore, it became without any doubts a fact that whole Europe is suffering from the flu. In our vicinity  – one may say – crowds of people are sick. Many a workplace is deserted, gyms and public traffic means are empty, schools have been closed…
Our team who is – I have to admit – currently on extraordinary high doses of biestmilch is and has been healthy all a along. We all work hard, we meet a lot of people, nevertheless our health stability is amazing. You get so robust taking biestmilch over years. We all feel like living on an island, an island that is not defined by geographical borders, but its state of immunity. Immunity thus makes the difference, immunity is the demarcation line to the rest of the world. Biestmilch island therefore got offsprings all over Europe ;-)

Would be interesting for us “biestmilchers” :-) to get to know from you whether you got through autumn without a flu and how you managed to do so. Those out there who are living on an island like ours too, please let us know.

To be open about it: there is a conflict of interest, because we really are convinced of this substance and we do market biestmilch.

Biestmilch starts an brand ambassador program

It all started with me taking the plunge into facebook. It took me quite a while to cross this Rubicon ;-) because I was actually afraid of the time it would consume, and it did ;-) … but for some good reason I have to admit today. This is now one and a half years ago, and slowly slowly a network has grown that is following me and my biestmilch philosophy and vision. Biestmilch is still very focused on my person. This is about to change now. We shall launch a biestmilch facebook fan page within days, and we shall start a brand ambassador program in the beginning of next year.

Thanks to Mark Hughes a facebook friend of mine this program – of which the idea had drowned in a drawer of mine a few years ago – experiences a revival now. We addressed to some of you guys out there already because you gave us the impression that you are biestmilch brand enthusiasts in somehow and would eventually be ready to join the program. (more…)

The art of the interview

I loved to listen to Marc Pachter with his authentic way of being. His words are wise (he got this age where one can dare to talk about wisdom). His liveliness and his openness are amazing. I myself am forced into interview situations once and again. As an absolute beginner I really could learn from Pachter what it takes to get a quality interview that is of interest and thrill for others. As a good interviewer you have to be gutsy even for the sake of compromising yourself and you have to have the empathy to pierce the shell of your interview partner, and the interviewee on the other side has to have this urge to tell his/her story and should not be modest.

Marc Pachter is a cutural historian, and has spent his career curating and creating intimate portraits of the lives of others.

We have a new product: Biestmilch hand-made soaps

The skin is an organ that has to compensate stress factors from the inside and the outside 24 hours a day for a  life time. It is a gigantic immune organ that has got its own stress system. Imbalances in stress processing can lead to various skin diseases, of which all of them have got an inflammatory component. Biestmilch (colostrum) is well known for its anti-inflammatory properties, therefore we have developed this soap that can help to maintain and bring back balance into your skin. The soap contains 1 gram of biestmilch.
Biestmilch soap natural flavor
This all natural soap will be available in our store from mid December. Currently the soaps still need to harden which take 4 weeks.

Let’s talk about itch today …

As I already indicated I started working on some skin publication. Why… ? Of course, I got some reason to do so. We are currently developing handmade soaps with biestmilch. Biestmilch has got a wonderful soothing effect on skin. To stress this without giving you some scientific background is definitely not good enough, therefore I plunged myself into some new science stuff, and I found very interesting publications on itching.

Everybody knows how it feels when some body parts start itching, it can be more than annoying, it can drive people into suicide. Now researchers elucidated some very new and interesting aspects of itch. Itch can be a symptom of local skin diseases as it is the case in allergies or local irritations. But they may as well be a symptom accompanying systemic diseases like tumors or infections. Some of you may also have experienced that itching can be a stress reaction. So, itch is not only caused by inflammation but also by stress. Stress stimuli, be they emotional or physical can cause itching. About the relation between stress and inflammation I shall write in a later chapter (they are also interdependent). (more…)
